Overview
DuPont Photonics has a technology platform in which optical building blocks can be integrated in any configuration. The component technologies that are the foundation of the product line include:
- Static and Thermo-optic Elements DuPont Photonics has developed
polymeric materials that form the unifying integration platform as well
as a library of static and dynamic passive optical components that include
low-power M×N switches, VOAs, taps, tunable couplers, splitters,
combiners, and tunable filters.
- Magneto-Optic Elements - DuPont Photonics integrated devices include
non-reciprocal building blocks built with garnets and magnets integrated
in the polymer platform. These elements include integrated isolators
and circulators.
- Electro-Optic and Polarization Control Elements Other materials
used in the DuPont Photonics platform include lithium niobate that is
utilized to form low-power modulators, polarization rotators, and polarization
mode splitters/combiners.
- Active Elements DuPont Photonics platform can also integrate active
elements based on III-V semiconductors and other active materials. The
integrated actives include photodetector arrays, tunable lasers, and
amplifiers.
